Laundry App & POS Software Development

I build customer applications and store software for laundry and dry-cleaning workflows. My LNDRY portfolio separates the customer booking experience from the laundry POS used at the counter. That distinction matters: customers need a simple pickup journey, while staff need accurate garment, order and payment information. I’m Sayan Mondal, founder of Shotlin and Opslin, working from Kolkata with businesses remotely.

Customer laundry app versus store POS

The customer application helps someone choose a service, provide an address and arrange a pickup. A laundry POS, or point-of-sale system, supports the store team as they book work, price garments and progress orders. A business may need one of these experiences before the other. Map the handoff between them first: who confirms a pickup, when the store records what arrived and how the customer learns about a change.

Garments, services and order booking

Laundry pricing can depend on a piece count, garment type, selected treatment or weight. Specify those rules before designing a price list. The LNDRY POS gallery shows garment selection, service categories, quantities, order totals and customer selection. For a new system, define how staff correct an item, apply an agreed adjustment and review the total before saving. Receipts, taxes and invoice requirements need to match the business and location being served.

Pickup, production status and delivery

A complete order journey needs clear responsibility for each step. Decide how an online request becomes a store order, how garments move through processing and what ready, delivered and complete mean for your team. The LNDRY screens show order progression, payment status and invoice entry points. A new implementation should also define missed pickups, partial completion, cancellations and corrections rather than treating the normal path as the only path.

Mobile and desktop counter workflows

The separate LNDRY POS gallery includes mobile and desktop screens. A phone can support a quick lookup; a desktop counter interface can expose more of an order at once. Neither layout establishes compatibility with every printer, scanner or payment terminal. List the exact hardware, browser, network and access requirements during discovery. If the counter must continue working without a connection, agree which tasks are available, how queued changes are reconciled and how conflicts are reviewed.

Buy existing laundry software or build a custom system?

An existing product can be a sensible choice when its booking, pricing and reporting match your operation. Custom development becomes worth discussing when an essential workflow or integration does not fit, or when you need a distinct customer experience. Compare total ownership costs, migration, provider charges and support responsibilities alongside the initial build price. This page offers development services; it is not a subscription checkout or a promise to reproduce another vendor’s product.

What affects laundry app development cost?

Scope depends on the customer app, counter system, number of stores, pricing rules, pickup and delivery process, and existing customer or order data. Integrations with messaging, payments, accounting or hardware add separate requirements. Ask for a proposal that distinguishes design, development, migration, acceptance testing and deployment from ongoing hosting and provider charges. I prepare a scoped estimate after reviewing the workflow rather than quoting an identical package for every store.

Acceptance checks and handover

Before accepting a first release, test a mixed-service order, a changed quantity, an unpaid order, a corrected price and an order moving through the agreed statuses. Check what a staff member can see or edit compared with an owner. If offline work is included, test disconnecting and reconnecting with realistic changes. Agree source access, data export, deployment instructions and support ownership. Use the two LNDRY project galleries below to describe the customer and counter experiences you need.

Working together across borders.

I’m based in Kolkata, India and available for remote projects worldwide, including the UK, Australia, UAE, US and Canada. Share your country, time zone and preferred review times when you enquire. Scope, communication, account access, handover and support expectations should be agreed before development starts.

Use the website and app project brief checklist to describe what your business needs before requesting an estimate.

Questions before getting started.

Can you build a laundry customer app and a separate store POS?

Yes. They can be scoped together or in stages. The customer booking journey and the staff order workflow have different requirements; the LNDRY customer and POS galleries show them separately.

Does custom laundry software support my printer or scanner?

Compatibility must be checked against the exact device, connection method, operating system and browser. Hardware support should be an explicit acceptance item, not an assumption based on a dashboard screenshot.

Can the laundry POS work offline?

Offline operation can be discussed for specific tasks. The scope must define local data, queued changes, synchronisation and conflict handling, then test that behaviour on the intended counter devices.

Do I need to replace my existing laundry system?

Not necessarily. An integration or a customer-facing app may solve the problem without replacing everything. Review API access, data ownership and the workflow gaps before deciding.
